In December 2008 the NSW Government announced that new energy efficiency targets for the Greenhouse Gas Reduction Scheme (GGAS) would be introduced from 1 July 2009. A NSW Energy Savings Scheme will be created to replace the GGAS DSA Rule effective from this date, and all energy efficiency activity (except on-site generation) will take place under a NEET Rule. The objective of the project is to develop a methodology for calculating and verifying abatement from commercial lighting projects, to be included in the Energy Savings Scheme.
