The objective of the project is to develop a lighting energy rating tool for the tenancies of commercial office buildings. This tool will benchmark the energy consumption of the incumbent lighting system and describe the potential for improvement, in order to inform prospective tenants/buyers and motivate all parties to install efficient lighting systems in these spaces. The tool is for use by NABERS assessors and its outputs are suitable for disclosure in the Building Energy Efficiency Certificate (BEEC) which forms part of the Australian Commercial Building Disclosure program.
